Multiple and Complex Needs Initiative

The Multiple and Complex Needs Initiative (MACNI) is a program within the Department of Health and Human Services. The model provides intensive services to clients with multiple layers of complexity who frequently experience mental health concerns, substance use issues, acquired brain injury, disability, homelessness and involvement in the criminal justice system.

A key component of MACNI Assessment is the development of a targeted Care Plan that makes informed recommendations regarding how all of the services involved in the clients care can best support the clients needs.

We work closely with clients, the department and care teams to undertake holistic Assessment and Care Plan Development in order to make responsive recommendations regarding how to meet the needs of this complex client group.

Care Plan Coordination

Multiple and Complex Needs Initiative

Once a MACNI assessment is completed we develop a detailed Care Plan that makes informed recommendations regarding how all of the services involved can best support the clients needs. This is called care plan development.

Once the care plan is completed and endorsed we begin the important role of Care Plan Coordination. Care Plan Coordination is undertaken in close collaboration with the client and care team and provides opportunity to work closely with care team members to facilitate optimal service provision for the client.

By having a Care Plan Coordinator who is independent to the care team, there is increased opportunity to reflect on the needs of the clients and care team and to independently evaluate the efficacy of interventions.

Complex Behaviour Analysis & Behaviour Support Planning

Behaviour Interventions for Clients with Complex Presentations

Behaviour analysis and the development of informed behavioural responses for people presenting with multidimensional complex needs, requires an extensive understanding of the behavioural complexities of the client group. Whilst there are numerous providers undertaking behaviour support planning within the educational and disability sphere, there is often a limited understanding of the impact of complex trauma, substance use and additional diagnoses that may be impact behaviours and interventions.

Red Maple Consulting draws on our experience in the complex client field to inform holistic analysis and behaviour support planning. We extend our analysis to include complex diagnostic profiles including psychiatric diagnoses and personality disorder traits, substance use and forensic behaviours of concern.

Red Maple Consulting does not currently provide behaviour analysis or behaviour support under the NDIS.
